Grays Crossing R13

This is a unique mountain home with a contemporary twist. The more traditional gable forms anchor of the composition and a curved entry roof adds interest. The efficient 3,406 sf design has three bedroom suites, a bunk room and rec room with a balcony loft overlooking the great room. It is conveniently located near the clubhouse at Gray's Crossing.

Martis Camp 21

This traditional mountain home is perched in the trees of Martis Camp with a view of Mount Rose from the great room. At 3,806 sf, it provides gracious but efficient living. The covered exterior great room has a fireplace, tv and barbeque while the adjacent deck takes advantage of the sun.

Martis Camp 95

This ranch style rustic cabin is secluded in the woods of Martis Camp with views of Northstar and Mount Rose. As you approach the home, the master and guest wings cradle the entry and the other forms of the design are progressively revealed. The 3,600 sf floor plan has a private master wing, two other en suite bedrooms, a flex room and loft. The great room and dining room open to the gracious covered dining with barbeque and open patio to enjoy the sunshine. The exterior siding is reclaimed vertical board and horizontal square log siding with chinking. The low pitch roof has random corten metal panel roofing.

Martis Camp 146

This is a modern style mountain cottage with traditional and contemporary forms. The dominant gable forms provide traditional design while curved roofs provide a contemporary overtone. The lower level of the 4,800 sf design has a private, gracious master bedroom suite with a sitting area, a second guest suite, a study, a game booth off the great room, and a media room most of which open to the rear covered terraces. The exterior great room has a fireplace, tv, barbeque and dining area to take advantage of outdoor living. From it's central location in Martis Camp, the home has direct views of Northstar and the adjacent ridges. Upstairs is a third guest suite with a loft, an over sized bunk room suite with a loft and game nook, and a large rec room with a bar and a covered viewing deck.

Grays Crossing B38

This efficient contemporary home is positioned to take advantage of the sun. The southeast facing forms, low pitch shed roofs and deep overhangs provide passive solar heating and shading at the appropriate times. A future active solar system will further increase efficiency. The split level design steps up the terrain integrating the home into the upsloping site and surrounding forest. The low pitch roofs are also designed to control snow shed amount and location. The interesting, 2,000sf floor plan provides a master suite with a covered viewing deck, a small flex area and two other bedrooms. The great room, kitchen and dining room open to the front sun deck and private back patio.

Martis Camp 1

This rustic lodge style home stands proud on a large open lot in Martis Camp. With full southern exposure, the covered porch gable roofs shade the sun in the summer and let the warmth penetrate in the winter. All reclaimed siding, trim and heavy timber members are authentically rustic. Two of the gallery halls bridge over landscaped dry creek beds. Low pitch gable roof forms connect the dominant, steep, vaulted gable roofs that define the larger rooms. The double gable roof of the great room creates a large, central space open to the kitchen, dining room and den with a balcony from the loft above.

Martis Camp 121

This traditional lodge style home has a direct view of the ski runs at Northstar from a sunny, centrally located lot in Martis Camp. The covered front porches shade the intense summer sun and catch the low winter sun. The floor plan is has underlying symmetry especially noticeable from the great room, kitchen, dining and den. The dining and kitchen are separated from each other with a double sided fireplace with stone veneer to the ceiling. An inside corner opening wall door system and a pass through window to the barbeque area provides inside and out living from the kitchen, dining and great room. The 5,138 sf also includes a full bar and wine room, a rec room w/ built in murphy beds and a covered viewing deck, a large master suite with a walk in shower, a separate guest suite and two bedroom suites upstairs adjacent to a loft flex room tower open to the great room below. From the loft the double gable roof of the great room provides full view of the fireplace.

Grays Crossing W19

This mountain contemporary home has primary traditional forms accented with secondary, contemporary forms. The material palate follows suite to give a modern but rustic feel to the mountain home. The structure is laid out to take advantage of the plentiful amount of sunshine on this Grays Crossing golf course lot. The lower level of the 3,298 sf home includes an open kitchen, dining and great room with expansive views of the golf course and forest beyond, an office divided from the great room with a large pocket door, a private master suite with views of Mount Rose and the golf course. A large partially covered deck extends the length of the home providing exterior access from all major rooms. The upper level includes a flex room with panoramic views, three bedrooms with window seats, lofts and two bathrooms.

This contemporary mountain home is primarily shed roofs with several gable roof forms. The shed roofs are pitched to maximize solar gain and control snow shed. The 2,398 sf floor plan is efficiently designed to maximize function. It includes an open great room, kitchen and dining which are also open to the covered back patio and have secondary views toward the front of the home and a flexible fourth bedroom / office on the lower level. Upstairs a flex room has excellent exposure to the sun and provides media use to two bedrooms. The master suite is positioned over the garage to take advantage of the views and sun.

This efficient mountain contemporary home is set on an open golf course lot in Grays Crossing. The low pitch of the roofs brings a contemporary feel to the traditional gable roof form. The floor plan is arranged to allow for a southern, golf course view from each room. The great room, dining room and master suite open to the back patio, and the office opens to a secondary patio at the back of the home. Two bedrooms upstairs have exceptional views. There is room for expansion of a larger master suite beyond the office.

The "Hermitage at Grand E Camp", tucked into the forest in Martis Camp tells the story of a hermit building his camp slowly over time. The graceful and intentionally imperfect structure reflects a solitary and creative process. The rustic and reclaimed materials display the additive construction process. This 2,032 square foot guest wing provides a large great room, 2 bedrooms with lofts and 1.5 baths.

This mountain contemporary home is pleasantly secluded in the woods of Martis Camp. It was designed with an emphasis on light, layout and landscape. Granite and cedar siding clads a rustic but contemporary stone and wood interior that brings the outside in. The compact 2,750 square feet provide 2 suites, a third bedroom and a bunk room.

Hawkins Ranch 4

Passive solar design and active solar systems heat and power this nearly off-the-grid utilitarian home. Valley views are captured while the house is warmed by the morning sun. The 3,531 square feet provide 4 bedrooms, an office, 3.5 baths and a loft rec room. It was built by Big John Craik.

Montreux 302s

No expense was spared in the design and construction of this French chateau mansion. Custom, structural arched heavy timber trusses give the home a local, mountain feel. The 8,077 square feet provide a rec room, theater, solarium, 8 bedrooms, 6 of which are suites, and a guest lounge. It was built by Cecil Koupal of Giant Big Construction and the heavy timber trusses were built by Robert Morken Construction.

Arrowcreek 1913

This Tuscan villa backs to the Arrowcreek golf course south of Reno and captures views of the foothills over the fairway. The floor plan is perfectly organized with lines of site leading from one space to another. The golf villa is designed for indoor / outdoor living, almost every room has access to a covered patio or generous entry courtyard and the great room has access to both. The rustic Italian gourmet kitchen is open to the great room and family room behind and a butler pantry separates it from the formal dining. It was built by Stuart Spear Construction

Pacetti Ranch 22

This Tuscan Villa sits in the high class, private Pacetti Ranch Estates and captures panoramic views of the Reno city lights. Granite countertops, custom shaker cabinetry and top of the line appliances adorn the gourmet kitchen. A marble fireplace and extensive travertine floors bring enhanced light and cleanliness to the space. The estate is sited to view the adjacent lake and its wildlife.
